This rare vintage issey miyake knit ensemble from fall 1984 is a great example of the designer's innovative approach to multifunctional oversized cuts and deformed layered silhouettes that are so characteristic of his work from the 1980s. The set comprises a skirt that may also be worn as a dress or top and an oversized sweater that could also function as a mini dress. Both pieces are made of a wool-nylon blend knit fabric with mottled grey and off-white stripes and feature an extravagant deconstructed cut with buttons at one side that may be worn open or closed to create different shapes.
